People come in and out of our life everyday. Some may not leave an impact but others may. My Grandpa was not just another somebody. My grandpa tought me so many great things throughout my life. Thanks to him, I am who I am today. Grandpa always was smiling and ready to take whatever obsticale came his way. I hope that someday I can somehow be just like him. He was such a great man and anyone that knew him can tell you of such great things he did while he was with us here. But now Grandpa is in heaven with God where he belongs and I can't wait until we meet up again someday there!

My Grandpa Mathews worked hard for everything he ever had. His mother died when he was just a baby and had not very much as a child. He never graduated from High School...he went to school and did his best however his teacher told him wrong and he ended up not having enough credits to graduate. But that didn't keep my Grandpa from reaching for his dreams. My Grandpa got married and had two boys. He raised those two boys the best that he could and that was pretty darn good. He gave them so much more then he ever had as a kid growing up. Grandpa eventually became very successful...he built Mathews' Auto Center and everything in life was great. Grandpa was such a sweet kind man and I never knew and I could have NEVER guessed what Grandpa's life was like as a child. It was not until after Grandpa passed away did I find all this out. And now I have just that much more respect for him. Although Grandpa worked so very hard ever day of his life so he could give his family everything they wanted...money was the last thing my Grandpa cared about. My Grandpa loved his family so much. He loved is grandchildren so much and anyone who saw him with us could tell by just see the twinkle in his eye when he was with us. Family was Grandpa's top priority and I think that's why loosing Grandpa is even harder for us all because we have a very close family and Grandp was always the leader of the pack...but Grandpa is still with us I know and still is watching over his family and taking care of us. Words can't begin to describe how much I love my Grandpa and how much I miss him. Don't let a day go by without telling your loved-ones how much you care about them and love them. I love you Grandpa!

MY GRANDPA MATHEWS... A MAN WITH SO MUCH DIGNATY, AND THE APPLE OF MY EYE. YOU TAUGHT US HOW TO TIE OUR SHOES, AND THAT WE SHOULD NEVER LIE. YOU CATERED TO OUR EVERY WIM, IN GOOD TIMES AND IN BAD. YOU WERE THE ONE TO WIPE OUR TEARS, WHEN WE WERE FEELING SAD. YOU SET THE HIGHEST STANDARDS, AND WERE NEVER QUICK TO JUDGE. YOU TAUGHT US ABOUT KINDNESS, AND ALWAYS RESPECTED US WITH LOVE. GRANDPA, YOUR MY HERO, AND IT'S HARD TO SAY GOODBYE. BUT HEAVENLY FATHER NEEDS YOU NOW, CAUSE YOUR SUCH A SUPER GUY. HE PICKS THE SPECIAL PEOPLE, TO HELP HIM UP ABOVE. I'M SURE HE HAS SO MUCH TO DO, TO SEND OUT ALL HIS LOVE. THERE ARE SO MANY MEMORIES, OF ALL THE GOOD YOU'VE DONE. WE'LL CHERISH EVERY MOMENT, AND STILL THE ONES TO COME. I'M GLAD YOU ARE IN HEAVEN, TO WATCH DOWN ON ME BELOW. YOU MADE ME FEEL SO SPECIAL, AND YOU FILLED MY HEART SO FULL. THANKYOU FOR THE HAPPINESS, AND ALL THE SPECIAL THINGS. I'LL MISS YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY, AND PRAY FOR ALL GREAT THINGS. GOODBYE UNTIL WE MEEN AGAIN, UPON THAT SUNNY PATH. REJOICE IN YOUR NEW LIFE WITH GOD, "I LOVE YOU" MY SWEET GRANDPA. Chris Dale Mathews.........1936-1998 I dedicate this poem to my Grandpa, who has taken a trip to visit Jesus. I will miss you forever Grandpa and will cherish all the memories I have of you forever. Until we meet again in Heaven someday... I Love You Grandpa......Krista *This poem was originally written by: MICHELLE DOWNS I have changed a few things, but all credit goes to her*
